The UK’s leading search engine optimisation company are to descend on the two venues, for Internet World and Business North West, later this month, with their team of experts in tow.

Matthew Platt, head of SEO, outlined the teams goal from the events: “It is to raise the awareness of the brand some more and hopefully meet some exciting new companies, who we can help build their business.

“We want to find some good companies to work with not for.”

Now in it’s 20th year Internet World, taking place April 24-26, is the biggest, longest running and best attended digital marketing and online business event in the UK, and managing director Mark Blackhurst is hoping to build on the previous year: “After the success of last years event we decided to build on the relationships we made with clients.

“One of the things we are trying to push at the event is the stance on ethical seo and returning an investment to clients through our seo services.

“What we are very aware of is that there are a lot of unethical SEO companies out there and what we are trying to do is show them that there are other, better, opportunities out there.”

Beforehand is Business North West which runs from April 17-18, with the SEONext particularly keen to help local business grown, Mr Platt concluded: “Being from Manchester it means a lot to help local businesses.”

The flight case company, based in Hull, took the step after previous SEO attempts “weren’t very good.”

Chris Henderson, who formed the company with brother Daniel and step father Gary Irons, said: “(We) found you guys and had a read up and thought we’d give you a try and see what you can do.”

Before adding: “Equipment Protection Solutions know with the help of SEONext we will be taking on the biggest competitors within the flight case industry.
“Together with SEONext we intend to vastly improving our worldwide sales and distributions and establish ourselves as a well known global company.”

SEONext Commercial Director Mark Blackhurst has equally high hopes: “It is great to have EPS on board, we identified them as having a great product right away.

“As well as having a great product they are very young and entrepreneurial.

“What I noticed from our very early conversations is that they were young and very ambitious people and we have high hopes for their product.”

EPS was established in 2011 for the sales and distribution of flight cases from their own manufacturing company, Hi Spec Cases.

They stock a wide range of brands, while a new website provides a whole host of catalogue products for all industries.

Chris added: “In addition to our wide range of flight cases, EPS Flight Cases have such extensive design and manufacturing capabilities that enable us to produce custom products designed to your specific needs.

“We can customize or personalize any of our products to suit all of our customers expectations.

“In addition to our customize or personalizing abilities, we also offer various ways in provided the best solutions to how the customers flight cases will be handled, and transported in harm free and conscious free method.

“Whether the customers requirements are large or a small, we have the ability to supply the customer with all flight case protection they need and for when they need it.”

Tech giant Google is preparing to launch a budget-price Nexus Tablet to challenge Amazon’s Kindle Fire which is currently the most commercially successful android platform despite (or perhaps because of) the exclusion from several of Google’s core application services for handhelds.

The first Nexus tablet is expected to be produced by Asus but the finished product should have more Google branding than previous products (e.g. the Samsung Galaxy Nexus). Existing partners are also expected to create Google-badged tablets for the overall tablet range.

Much like the original (and unsuccessful) Nexus One handsets, Google intends to cut out the carrier middlemen and sell their own product directly to consumers. One of the main pitfalls that led the Nexus One handsets to failure was the lack of consumer interest in the product; the consumer market just wasn’t ready to cast aside the middlemen and, within months of launching their website in 2010, Google were forced to give up and resort to traditional distribution methods.

Has the tech consumer market evolved beyond the point of playing cat-and-mouse with carriers and special offers or will Google’s second attempt at Nexus follow their first to an early grave?

Why would tablets succeed where phones could not? Since tablets don’t usually come with contracts, the confusion caused by the single-site distribution method will be drastically reduced. On the other hand, what can Google do to mount a significant challenge against Apple’s utter dominance? Other Android slates (Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, etc) have thus far failed to ruffle many of Apple’s feathers.

What do you think? Drop us a line!

We all know that content is king and sites producing properly optimised high-quality content rank higher than sites producing dead space (or at least you’d bloody hope so). Here are a couple of things you might not have considered that can have a noticeable effect on your rankings.

1. Freshness

In the old days (feels weird saying that about the Internet, oh well) the objective of a search engine was to locate trusted websites relevant to your search terms. Due in part to the rapid expanse of the Internet community and therefore an expanse to the amount of searchable material, search engines these days aim to provide fresher pieces of content first – though still only from trusted, relevant sites.
Update your website regularly and add new pages and you could soon be seeing a marked effect in your organic traffic and rankings.

2. Social Media buzz

Both Google and Bing recently confirmed that data from Social Media sites is taken into consideration in their algorithms – how much so we don’t know but that’s not the only upshot of Social Media. Social media popularity over time can be an indicator of a page’s relevance – if people continue to share it amongst their peers then it is still a valid source of information and therefore relevant.

3. Accessible, user-friendly site

Google has been trying to account for the accessibility and usability of sites in their search algorithms and they have achieved some success with this via the Panda update which provided extra refinement on the nuances of user-friendly sites. A good company should offer a fantastic customer experience (as well as the quality content we’re always pushing) on their site if they want to improve rankings and increase organic traffic.

Google has flatly denied rumours that companies will be able to get a SEO ranking boost by obtaining new vanity top-level domain (TLD) names from the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

Google’s webspam expert, Matt Cutts, said that organisations “shouldn’t register a TLD in the mistaken belief that you’ll get some sort of boost in search engine rankings.”

This was said in response to an op-ed written by Adrian Kinderis, CEO of ARI Registry Services, one of many domain registry companies looking to make a fortune assisting companies with applications for and the running of their own branded or keyword gTLD.

“Will a new TLD web address automatically be favoured by Google over a .com equivalent?” Kinderis wrote on marketingmag.com.au, an Australian marketing magazine. “Quite simply, yes it will.”

He based his opinion on the premise that Google already looks at keywords in domain names when ranking algorithms and the idea that having a gTLD will give companies the opportunity to build distinct, authoritative name spaces.

Google’s algorithms are known to account for the TLD already in some cases; searchers based in the UK are more likely to see results from sites with .co.uk addresses but will this extend to non-geographic gTLDs? That is (or was, if you believe what Matt Cutts says on the matter) open to question.

Domain name policy-maker ICANN is accepting applications for new gTLDs until the 12th of April and expects to receive over 1,000 applications in total. In addition to branded suffixes, companies are expected to apply for keyword domains related to their industries, such as .phone or .fashion.

“Will car.insurance rank higher than carinsurance.com (for example)?” Kinderis wrote. “All the evidence suggests the answer is yes, provided that the .insurance namespace builds value and perhaps verification into its space to ensure it is a signpost for good, trusted and authoritative content.”

Domain name registries and consultants have been promoting the new gTLD concept to companies partly with the belief that a keyword after the dot might be good for search engine optimisation.

Matt Cutts has now raised big questions regarding the accuracy of that expectation. “Google will attempt to rank new TLDs appropriately, but I don’t expect a new TLD to get any kind of initial preference over .com,” he wrote, “and I wouldn’t bet on that happening in the long term either.”

“If you want to register an entirely new TLD for other reasons, that’s your choice, but you shouldn’t register a TLD in the mistaken belief that you’ll get some sort of boost in search engine rankings,” he added.

As a serving soldier in the Armed Forces the time had come to begin training again for another deployment to Afghanistan. I had decided though after 4 years that the Army just wasn’t for me and my desire to be at home with my family grew stronger and stronger. I felt that the time had come where I wished to put my life log aspiration into practice; to work for myself.
I have always had a keen interest in computers but I was by no means an expert. I decided though to throw caution to the wind and launch my own website with the help of my business partner and IT Guru, David Davidson.
I went about drawing up the plans of the website and how I wanted it too look and David turned my drawings into the online masterpiece that exists today. Right at the start of this venture I had decided to begin studying SEO and experimented with the processes I discovered along the way.
My termination date with the Army was fast approaching so I realised that time was the essence and I had to take some immediate action. I decided now was the time to call in the experts. That’s when I approached SEONEXT. I knew Justin and Mark personally and I knew from my own research that they were more than capable of getting me fast results on the high traffic keywords to move the site faster forward than I could ever have dreamed of. I was not disappointed.
Since starting with SEONEXT I have found their company to be ultra efficient and effective. They are always on hand to answer any of my many SEO queries and as a new start up they have led me down the right paths at every turn. The websites rankings began rising almost instantly. I am in no doubt that we will continue to work together for a long time to come. It has been and continues to be a lot of hard work but the boys at SEONEXT have enabled me to bring my aspirations into fruition and cemented the foundations what I hope, a long lasting profitable business.
