In continuation to our series about useful SEO tools offered by Google, here are the last set of traffic analysis applications offered by Google Analytics.

Visitor Loyalty

Google’s latest analytic’s feature, otherwise known as Visitor Loyalty Reports, helps you to identify your website’s visitors that are of the most value to your business. Here are a few prominent features of this wonderful tool:

Length of Visit (Visitor Behavior): Length of visit is a measure of visit quality. A large number of lengthy visits suggests that visitors interact more extensively with your site

Regency: It is the frequency with which visitors return to your site and indicates their level of engagement with your brand

Depth of Visit (Visitor Behavior): Depth of visit is a fool proof measure of your website’s quality. A high number of high pageviews per visit is indicative of your site being user friendly and that visitors interact extensively with your site. The associated graph allows you to analyze and visualize the entire distribution of visitors instead of simply rendering the average pageviews per visit.

Factors Concerning Browser Capabilities:

Browser Capabilities reports determine Which browsers do your visitors use..

Browsers and OS (Browser Capabilities): Which browsers/operating system combinations do your visitors use

Screen Colors: This determines how many screen colors can your visitors see on the webpage? Optimizing your site for the appropriate technical capabilities helps make your site more engaging and usable and can result in higher conversion rates and more sales.

Flash Versions: Which versions of Flash do your visitors have installed?

Screen Resolutions: Which screen resolutions do your visitors use?

Java Support: Is Java supported on your visitors’ platforms?

Network Properties:

Service Providers.. Service providers’ reports determine which internet service providers do your visitors use

Hostnames: From which hosts are people visiting your site? Hostnames sometimes provide insight into organizations that are interested in what you offer.

Connection Speeds: Which connection speeds are your visitors using? Optimizing your site so that it loads quickly for most visitors can result in higher conversion rates and more sales.

Mobile Devices: Which mobile devices people visiting your website…

Traffic Source:
When you looking on traffic source in google analytics you notice that larg amount of traffic coming from a particular traffic source.

We all are well aware of the power of SEO. And there is no better tool than Google Analytics to check, monitor and analyse the incoming traffic to your website. This post is the first in this 3 part series emphasizing on the various applications of Google Analytics.

Open https://www.google.com/analytics/ url in your browser…

Use your Gmail account or create a new account

Type your website without http:///

Enter your account name

Select Country

Select your Time Zone

1. Enter your first-name and last name and select your country then click on “ Yes, I agree to the above terms and conditions.” Check box

2. Next option is ..what are you tracking…. Google analytics provide three options

a) Single domain
b) One Domain with multiple sub-domain…
c) Multiple top-level domain

you will be select any-one of these … and if you want to track adwords with google analytics ….. click on check-box I want to track AdWords campaigns

Once you find the code snippet, copy and paste it into your web page, just before the closing </head> tag. If your website uses templates to generate pages, enter it just before the closing </head> tag in the file that contains the <head> section. (Most websites re-use one file for common content, so it’s likely that you won’t have to place the code snippet on every single page of your website.)

Click on Submit and finish Button

Congratulations! Google Analytics account set up is finished. Now you just need to paste the tracking code onto every web page you want tracked

Hence, you might as well get familiarized with the working of this Tool so that you may efficiently track traffic updates for your website.

Google Analytics Dashboard: Your Website Genie…

Google Analytics Dashboard Shows all of your custom reports on one page.. If you want you can remove any custom reports form dashboard and if you want you can add any custom report on dashboard

By default on the dashboard you get the visitors report, the site usage report, visitors’ overview, map overlay, traffic sources overview and content overview. Visits and Site Usage Report

1. Visitors Overview

How many visitor landed on your site in one month

What Langauge Visitor use

What network locations are they coming from

What browsers are the using to view your site

What screen colours are they using

What is the visitors screen resolution while viewing your website

What kind of plugins do they use – such as java or flash

what internet connection speeds do they use

Benchmarking….

Benchmarking is an optional tools Google Analytics service that shows how your website’s statistics compare against other industry verticals

Map Overlay
Analytics allows you do pinpoint geographically where your visitors access your website from through what it calls ‘Geotargeting’. The Visitors Map Overlay can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Visitors’ section, then the top ‘Visitors Map Overlay’ link just underneath it.

The default view Analytics gives you is of a world map with the Country/Territory view, which will have countries rendered with varying shades of green. The darker the colour, the greater the percentage of visitors come from that particular country. Here is an example of what that overview may look like.

New vs. Returning

Next report after map overlay is New vs Returning Visitor.

If someone visits your website at work, and then goes back to the site once they get home, then they’re counted as a new visitor because there’s no tracking cookie on their home computer.

Basically anyone within your company will go to your website regularly to check on and update data. That can artificially boost your return visit count

Languages…

Languages tools show the data how many number of people use what type of languages

Visitor Trending

Here is an explanation of each Link under visitor trending.

Visits: Visits link shows the total number of visit to your website during the selected.
Absolute Unique: Since the thirty minute inactivity standard causes another visit, take a look at the absolutely unique visits.

Average Page Views: Average page views showing the average of page views per user.. With the help of this tools you know the how many user like more than just one page of your web-site..

Time on Site: Here, you will learn how long users spend viewing your site

Bounce Rate: This gives you the percentage of visits that were “click backs” to whatever page brought the user to your website.

If you are newly launching a business or already have a business and are thinking of expanding, it would be good to hire a professional company for your web design needs. You may be tempted not to hire one but there are good enough reasons for hiring a professional company for you website design needs. The following are the points in favour of hiring a web design company:-

1) ‘Do It yourself’ kits won’t work

The sites that are developed using such ‘Do-It-Yourself’ kits make use of templates which are of a very general nature. What’s more, the template you buy may also be used by some other site, so your site may end up looking much like any other site. It won’t have a distinct identity of its own. A web site design professional knows exactly what you want and can custom make a web site to suit your needs. A professional is also aware of the latest web designing tools and tricks and can design a site keeping the objectives of your enterprise in mind.

2) No need for a Lavish Budget

It may seem strange, but you don’t really need to have a big budget to hire a website designing professional. You need not have tons of content on your website just to add to the bulk. All you need is valuable and related content on your web pages. A good professional can do this for you. In today’s fast paced world, you and your business need to be visible all the time and this can be achieved by a professional company.

3) Leave an expert job for the experts

A professional company who is full time into web site design knows his job well and has more tools and resources at his disposal. They usually have a team working for tasks like designing, writing and SEO are handled separately. This benefit of individual specialization is available to you at no extra cost. It will also ensure that the job is done with finesse.

You may also achieve the same by a trial and error method, but it will take considerably longer time and you would agree that committing mistakes could prove costly for your business. So, its better to let a professional handle your web design needs.

Sounds far fetched? Yahoo Japan has recently announced they will switch their Search technology with Google, it means they will use Google’s search technology on back end to supply search results and ads. The revenue thus generated from ads will be shared between Google and Yahoo Japan.

Yahoo Japan is a completely distinct entity from Yahoo, and have highest market share of the total search volume in Japan which is pegged at 53% while Google has 38%.After this deal, they will have combined search volume around 91 %.

This merger has been possible because Yahoo Japan is a separate and independent company in which Yahoo has own only 35% of share and Japans internet provider company has an ownership of 40% which allows it to call the shots in business matters, leaving yahoo with no say at all. Yahoo and Microsoft both are, expectedly, not too happy with the deal as Yahoo Japan-Google duo would almost control the entire market in the world’s second largest economy.

What can you do … if, in any case, someone copies your website content and republishes the same on a different site

A Splog, otherwise known as a Spam Blog, steals content from a random website for earning a quick buck from ads

Splogs are, indeed, harmful since they steal parts of your website’s SER, incoming traffic and ad revenues.

Luckily, Google has made fighting Splogs quite easy. DMCA, or Digital Millennium Copyright Act, is for the protection of the copyrights of your digital assets.

If you believe that someone has copied your website’s content without seeking your permission, you can file a complaint to DMCA, Google. If the plagiarised website uses Google Adsense for revenue generation, you can even send a DMCA complaint to Google Adsense.

Here’s what you can do:

Step1: The first step is to ask the concerned splog to remove your content from its page.

Step2: Post a comment under your articles on the abovementioned Splog…

Here’s what your application can look like:
“This is a Notice of Infringement as authorized in § 512(c) of the U.S. Copyright Law under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
This article is an unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted material originally found at:
Please remove this article immediately or we will file an official complaint with the U.S. Copyright Office, FeedBurner and Google, Inc. Google’s response may include removing or disabling access to material claimed to be the subject of infringing activity and/or terminating subscribers.”
Thank you,
[Your Name]

Step3: You may also mail to the splog web-hosting companies or find splog web-hosting companies with “who.is” records. e.g: who.is/whois/abc.com

Step4: If splogger has still not removed the copied content from its website, the next resort is to file an official DMCA complaint.

There are a few other methods you can employ to protect your blog/web-site from content theft:

•	You may post a copyright notice for each blog post and RSS feed
•	You should not take in entire articles in RSS feeds. Instead, you may use the “More about this” tag.
•	You may even use an automated tool such as Copyscape to search for websites stealing your content.

The big question is ‘What exactly is blogging’? Blog is a widely used term that refers to a web log. Some might say that a blog is an online journal. A blog could be set up at absolutely zero cost, and can be used just for the fun of it or for commercial reasons as well.

Blogging for your Internet business is one sure-shot way to boost the visibility and instant acceptance of your products and services. Here are a few ways to boost the popularity of products and services with the help of a blog:

1. Keep your clients or prospective customers abreast with your website’s updates. Your business associates and affiliate websites could also be promoted through your blog.

2. Keep a track of all your business goals and plans through open writing. Your blog content can be easily stored in the form of archives. Nothing can be better than searchable information that could be easily accessed by anyone browsing the web, right?

3. Publishing is a very easy process with blogging. Air your opinions, advice or reviews on specific services or products that are related to your business.

4. Include links that will carry back links and consequently improve your ranking on search engines. This could be better executed through putting well-written articles in your website. Affiliate links could also be included in your blog to earn more extra income.

5. Collect reaction through the capacity of blogs to fetch comments from your blog readers. You can learn and improve your products and services through with the feedback from your readers.

6. Connect easily with other bloggers. When other bloggers notice that you have something good in your blog, they will put you in their favourites’ lists that will automatically link you to their blogs.

So, how do you go about setting up a blog? You may either load a blogging software or let a blogging hosting service do it for you. Host services such as LiveJournal and Blogger.com are the most popular in this field. Those hosts will provide you with easy information on how to put up your blog.

Google penalties are very harmful for your website from an SEO point of view. Prevention is always better then solution or recovery. Hence, it is better to prevent your site from Google penalties, but if your site’s already got penalised?

First and foremost, on what basis has your site been penalised. Recovery normally involves fixing the cause of penalty and, waiting for Google to filter their SERP. It may take 2-3 months to recover after fixing the cause of penalties.

Google Re Inclusion Request

If your website has lost his page rank or Google has de-indexed your site, you should report re inclusion request through Google’s webmaster tool, but before submitting Re Inclusion Request fix the cause of penalties. Google’s algorithm can automatically remove penalties if your website is in Google’s index. You can use Google indexing pages to check is your website is still in Google’s index or not.

To submit the re inclusion request login to your Google webmaster tool and use the given link:-

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/reconsideration

How much time does reconsideration take?

Whenever a ReInclusion request has been made it goes in queue for a manual review process by Google’s staff. It may take several weeks to get checked for violations of Google’s Guidelines for Webmaster. Once reviewed, you will get a message in your inbox to confirm that your reincluseion request has been processed. You can find this message in your inbox by logging into your webmaster tools account.

Prevention is always better then recovery. Hence, it makes sense to prevent your site from Google penalties. You should always update your site and keep track of changes in Google’s indexing algorithm.

Many a times, our clients ask why is that we are getting lots of visitors but our sales are not increasing. Is this the same question as yours?

Let’s talk about it

Does your website has ‘call to action’?

If your answer is ‘No’, then no matter how many visitors are coming to your site, you still won’t get much benefited by them.

Every visitor is valuable for your website and without Call to Actions (CTAs) you are simply wasting the time of your visitors and, of course, your efforts which you are making on your website. You always understand what a visitor needs from your site and of course where you want to move them. And also try to understand the segment of users coming to your website and manage them with specific “CTAs”

So, here you will know what you should keep in mind for Call to Actions

Use these following tricks to make a “call to action” concept that will have your phone calls ringing and your sales graphs spiralling upwards.

1. DO THE GROUND WORK

Before a user attempts to complete a Call to Action, they have to describe their needs.

Infomercials presentations do this perfectly. Before they ask people to join, they first present a problem and subsequently offer a product or service that solves the same.

You also need to mention the benefits of responding to CTAs. Ask yourself what benefit will the user get from completing your call to action?

Take the example from an online casino site

Immediately above the right side corner, notice the Call to Action button (a download button where they offer a welcome package besides the option of instant play. And they have the following text:

‘Play 888casino LIVE!

Get real live casino action, with real dealers.’

They clearly explain on their site what the user will get by downloading.

2.OFFER A BIT EXTRA

Sometimes you may have to offer an irresistible deal to encourage users to attempt a call to action.

You can offer free samples of your products before your customers place the order.

This is the approach cane direct used on their furniture and cushion website.

Request FREE Fabric Samples. (See in the image below)

3. NOTIFY THE DEAD LINE FOR PLACING ORDERS

Offer some promotional goods that double up as a temptation for placing orders. ‘The specific offer could end on that date’

Or you can get the gift placing order before this date. . For example, order by the 10th and get a… etc.

Also, try to place the cut off date in the same period as your goods will be delivered. This way, your valuable customers will know they have a limited time to respond and they won’t fall under the “I’ll do it later” syndrome

4. NOTIFY BEFORE PRICE INCREASE

People always want to get the best deals on their products. If your price is increasing on a specific date, tell your customers so that they know about this. They would want to purchase before your product’s value increases.

OFFER A TRIAL/PEROID OR AN INTRODUCTORY OFFER

Trial period is a good way to get new customers. You can offer a special deal, additional service or a big discount during your introductory/trial period.

5. OFFER FREE DELIVERY FOR ORDERS

You can offer free delivery of products when your customers will place a specific amount of order which will further boost your sales. (As offered in the image below)

6. “NO RISK” MONEY BACK GUARANTEE

Customers always want to know if there is any money back guarantee if they’re not satisfied with the service or product. Let your customers know when can they cancel the order. You can also set a trial period and advertise it as ’15 days money back guarantee’

7. GET THE CTA ON RIGHT POSITION

One and another most important factor is the place of your call to action on the website. Honestly it should be placed at the top of the page and in right side column.

www.picframes.co.uk places their CTA on the top right side and explains very clearly what will the customer get after attempting their CTA

8. HAVE A LARGE CTA

Our web designers often do not agree with clients who ask us to make things larger. It is generally true fact that size is not everything. However, we cannot deny that size does play an important part on a web page. The larger your call to action is, the more is the chance that it would be noticed.

Mozilla have followed this approach on the home page where their download link indicates the page. Have a look.

9. GET A CALL TO ACTION ON EVERY WEB PAGE

A call to action must be on every page of website, not just on the home page. Every page of your website must have some call to action that the user can follow. Every page of your web site must have some type of call to action that the customer can use.

10. MAKE IT EASY AND SIMPLE

Users do not like to think too much, especially when surfing the internet. There will be fewer visitors who will respond. Use a few words. Keep the offer clear. Do not mention any terms and conditions or special rules. Don’t try to force visitors to click on too many pages to attempt the action. Always keep in mind the harder it is to finish, the fewer would be the user who attempt it.

An impressive call to action is the heart of a successful web site and by following all above techniques your online sales will boost like a ROCKET J
